Prison Break

Prison Break is a television series conceptualized and created by Paul Scheuring. The first season of prison break was aired in the year 2005 by Fox Broadcasting Network. After runaway success with its earlier television series like Lost and 24, Fox was looking to introduce another cracker of a show for the American public.

Prison break as a TV show was initially turned down by Fox. In fact it was going to be published as a book. But it went on air in 2005 and the response was very good from the audiences. There was nothing like this on TV at least. There a few movies based on the “jail break” theme but none were able to capture the audience’s attention like prison break.

The basic premise of the show is breaking out an innocent person from the prison. It is a tale of two brothers where the older one(Lincoln Burrows) is falsely implicated for murdering the vice-presidents brother and he gets a death sentence as a result. The evidence is compelling but tampered with. The younger brother(Michael Scofield) after carrying out a bit research finds out that his brother is falsely implicated. With the jury not favoring Lincoln, Michael decides to break out Lincoln from the Illinois state penitentiary.

This is where the absolute genius of Michael starts unfolding. The sheer techniques he uses to manipulate prison mates according to his needs and the “race against time” sequences are breath taking. I have been a fan of 24 TV series, but there is no beating Prison Break. The first season ends with the prison break out. The prison break is not so easy and the difficulties that Michael faces are enormous but he overcomes them all with his genius.

The second season portrays how Michael has everything planned out as to what to do after breaking out. The third season shows Michael getting into prison and Lincoln helping him break out. The final season is where it all ends and the real culprits behind Lincolns false implication are brought to justice.

Prison break as a TV show is nothing short of a revolution in TV history. It is difficult to express the sheer brilliance of this TV show in words. Just watch a couple of episodes and you’ll be yearning for more!

 Netflix and Blockbuster are going to have to get up to speed with a newly launched NBC and Fox joint venture website or loose their proverbial kyster in the opinion of Remote Helpdesk 1 who hosts “My Name Is Bill W“. The true life story of the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).

NBC and Fox have teamed up to offer great movies Free, TV shows Free, and clips Free right on your desk top… no trips to the store… no waiting on snail mail. Movies on demand… on your time… at the place of your choosing… on your desktop… LEGAL and (did Computer Man mention?) FREE… an idea whose time has come.

The new video on demand website launched Wednesday, 12 March 2008 and is supported through advertising. Sound familiar? O.K. So it is somewhat like TV. Who cares? It is still a real entertainment alternative – a real entertainment value, and the Tennessee Mountain Man predicts it will be a big hit.

Like Tivo, you can fast forward, pause, etc. The only draw back is that if you are fast forwarding to skip an advertisement it won’t exactly work. You will land on an ad you must allow to play to continue watching the movie.
